All classes are designed to synchronize the breath with a progressive sequence of poses in a flow format (one pose fluidly leads to another). This process builds internal heat that purifies and detoxifies muscles and organs; this also promotes balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation. The result is improved circulation, strong body and mind. Refresh your mind and discover innovative ways of meeting the challenges of your life.

I have a BS from Baylor University and am currently getting a second degree in nursing. I have been active in the fitness industry for over 10 years. With a background in Science and personal training, yoga and massage became the next logical step. I have had 6 plus years experience and training in hot yoga and power yoga. My philosophy is to "keep it light" and just have fun trying new things. The experiences we have in the yoga room can all be carried over into our outside lives. I enjoy taking my students to the next level as they develop a practice and discover their potential. Yoga is a process. It is my pleasure to assist students as they embark upon their personal journey.

I started yoga about three and a half years ago. I was always into fitness, especially running, but an injury brought me to yoga. I am grateful for that injury, for it introduced me to something beyond exercise. I was hooked after my first class. I have had many teachers who have been trained by well-known yoga masters. They all have different styles and techniques, and I learned from all of them. I am certified with Purple Lotus Yoga Teachers Training School for the 200 hours yoga alliance.
I have a BBA in Human Resources from UNT. I worked in business for several years, but after I started yoga, I could not imagine doing anything else. I am heavily into yoga. I am mainly trained in the power Vinyasa flow. I have also experienced Bikram and Ashtanga. I like all of them, but I am partial to the power Vinyasa flow.
Yoga can be a challenging workout; but the greatest challenge for a lot of people is to know where they can stay in a pose to keep the integrity of the breath. There is always a pose that can take someone to the next level.
Yoga is the only exercise where there is absolutely nothing in my head but the sound of my breath.

I love to pass my knowledge of yoga onto students of all levels. My experience comes from practicing and studying with masters from around the globe, regional teachers in Austin and Houston and the amazing local teachers of Dallas/Fort Worth. My journey is one of constant growth and I continually attend workshops around the country. My classes seamlessly link the breath and movement into alignment-based postures that strengthen tone, detoxify and purify the entire body while calming the mind. Just like every day is different, every side is different...so are my classes. Come try one and see if it's right for you.

I am a mother of two and I fell in love with yoga after the birth of my second child in 2002. After completing my first class I immediately felt the benefits and realized that I wanted and needed to share this with others. I’ve practiced many styles of yoga including Bikram, Astanga and Children’s. I found that yoga is not only a great way to stay in shape but it’s also relaxing. Since 2004, after completing over 500 hours of training in Hatha yoga, I have been sharing my love of yoga with others. My main focus is technique, alignment and breath. I will help you find your own benefits and spiritual aspects through yoga. There is a place for everyone in yoga. Let me help you find yours.

I was a yogi before I ever knew what that meant. Growing up in England I have fond memories of doing the poses at a very young age, anywhere I found space. I was educated at a Phys. Ed. college near Canterbury in Kent. I specialized in dance and gymnastics, still doing my poses unaware they were an intricate part of an ancient spiritual practice. It was not until 20 years later when I attended a yoga class in Dallas that I realized there were names for the daily poses I had been doing. Needless to say, that is when my training intensified as I was excited to study this ancient form of discipline.
As I grew in my practice I accidentally began teaching one day, about four years ago, when a teacher did not show up. I offered to lead the class. Already a school teacher of 15 years, my natural instincts to teach guided me through the class. As karma would have it I began teaching that very class a week or so later. I have been teaching Vinyasa flow at various studios in the Dallas area ever since.
Yoga is not only my passion but an essential part of who I am today. Our planet is forever evolving as are our bodies. It is essential that we nurture the union of body, mind and spirit. Letting go of our egos allows us to understand that no-one is better than anyone else. As we liberate ourselves, we come to accept what is, to live in this moment, and to make each breath the purest breath we will ever have.

I found yoga 5 years ago when a friend talked me into attending a Bikram class. I fell in love & have been practicing ever since. I was first attracted to yoga for the physical aspects & benefits but after coming to Power Play in 2006 I found a deeper connection. My practice has grown through the years & with the encouragement of instructors, I found myself leading classes. I completed my teacher training in December 2007 with Purple Lotus Yoga. I am continually learning & growing from my instructors, classmates & students. I believe that yoga is a “total package” linking mind, body & spirit as no other workout or practice can. I look forward daily to continuing my journey. Every day is different, every body is different….you must learn to honor yourself - your body, your mind, on and off the mat.
